Eye Makeup Tips: white eyeliner and Q-tips

For a start, here is something about using white eyeliner. Don't forget to read the comments below, which discuss using pearl for a soft look and beige tones for darker skin.

Just make sure it is free of BHA and BHT

Butylated hydroxianisole (BHA)/Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) is a skin & eye irritant, a suspected carcinogen, and may cause foetal abnormalities.

Q-tips are a very versatile beauty tool ! I love to use them for smudging and blending, and for cleaning up. I wouldn't recommend using them instead of makeup and eyeshadow applicatory, because their uneven shape and texture will make it harder to be precise in colour application.

Here are ideas on how to use it:
  • To smudge and blend eyeliner, for a smoky, soft look.
  • To clean up the under-eye area when your makeup smudges and you start looking like a racoon. A slightly damp q-tip works best here !
  • For cleaning up smudges from mascara.
  • Dip the q-tip into face powder and wipe away any particles of eyeshadow that have fallen on the under-eye area or on your cheeks.
  • Dip it into makeup remover and gently clean up eye makeup before going to bed.
